We are ecstatic to announce that Lloyd Barker has joined the Nepean Hotspurs Soccer Club as our new Club Sporting Director. With an impressive background in soccer and a deep commitment to nurturing talent, Lloyd brings a wealth of experience to our organization.

Lloyd has been involved in the game his entire life and has made an indelible mark as one of Canada’s most respected soccer minds. Born and raised in Jamaica, he immigrated to Canada setting roots in the community of Nepean at the age of 13. By 17 he was playing professionally for Ottawa Intrepid in the original Canadian Soccer League (CSL). He then embarked on a 17-year professional playing career including 4 years with the Jamaican National team, retiring following his 2004 Championship season with the Montreal Impact. Lloyd also boasts a 20-year coaching career spanning professional, collegiate, and amateur levels of play.

Lloyd's passion for the game and dedication to player development aligns perfectly with our Club mission and values. He is excited to dive in, assemble his technical staff team, and work closely with our coaches and players. We are confident that under his leadership, we will continue to enhance our reputation as a leading soccer club in Ottawa.
